There are different ways of getting involved at Happyland. The community center couldn’t exist without motivated and happy volunteers. We recommend you to stay one month minimum – volunteers from all over the world come with many skills. Artists, musicians, cookers, teachers, sport, it is full of goodwill and joy that you could bring more happiness in the children’s life.

We are always in great need of people with enthusiasm, specialist skills, a good work ethic and BIG HEARTS. Volunteer tasks include but are not limited to, supporting classes (teaching if you stay for a long period), supervising/playing, organizing activities, cooking, cleaning, gardening, admin and IT.
This is a great opportunity to get involved, make a difference and plunge into rural Cambodian culture. If you think that you are up to the challenge, please read our guide with all of the relevant information, policies and application: click here.

If you can’t volunteer, there are several other ways to support us. Click here for more information.

Ciggy (Volunteer)

After traveling for a year I realised that I wanted to use my positive energy helping people. My sister worked as a volunteer in Cambodia a few years ago and her story inspired me. I spent one month at Happyland and I would have like to stay longer. I really enjoyed teaching English. It was so good to see how motivated my students were. I shared my musician skills and helped around the centre to keep it clean, organised and beautiful. Volunteering at Happyland is my first mission but not the last. Seeing all these smiling faces made me realise that I want to keep spreading my positive energy and joy around the world.
